Just yesterday my husband complained about the number of glass jars we had piling up in the cupboard where our drinking glasses belong. “Why have we got to keep all these glass jars?” he asked. “It’s because when the crops are bountiful I will be making preserves and chutneys and bottling the surplus” I said, secretly hoping for that day to come.
Truth is I just can’t bring myself to throw them out.
Some quick facts;
Glass is the ultimate recyclable, being able to be recycled infinitely.
Did you know that the amount of energy that is used to recycle glass is about half of the energy used to make new glass from natural resources.
Over a ton of natural resources are saved for every ton of glass that is recycled!
Your challenge for today is to try and replace some of your plastic containers in the pantry, laundry or under your sink with glass jars. Are you up to the challenge?
